Cultural careers days at the Fondation de l'Œuvre Notre-Dame

Tours of the cathedral's workshops
Tuesday 7 April to Thursday 9 April, 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm

For young people and students only

The aim of these days is to give visitors a chance to discover, in a practical way, the expertise involved in the day-to-day conservation-restoration of Strasbourg cathedral.

The professions presented :

- stone cutting
- sculpture
- drawing and surveying
- conservation-restoration
- site work
- studies
- forging
- art history
- collection management

The tour will take you to :

- the design office
- the moulding workshop
- the stone-cutting and sculpture workshop
- the conservation laboratory
- in the courtyard: the forge, lifting demonstrations and practical workshops

Technical demonstrations and supervised workshops:

- stone engraving
- introduction to conservation techniques
- assembling a bow
- moulding
